An aggrieved housewife, Awele Nwani, 35, has allegedly bathed her husband, Frank Nwani, with hot water, claiming that her hubby denied her sex for three weeks.
The incident happened in Ibusa, Oshimili South Local Government Area of Delta State. The mother of six children, now on the run, also alleged that her husband had been having sexual affairs outside and threatened to make life unbearable for him.
But the victim (husband) dismissed her wife’s claim as untrue, saying his wife had been sleeping around.
He said, “My wife has been sleeping around, hence I stopped sleeping with her for three weeks. It is a taboo in my tribe and she violates the laws.”
Frank stressed that his attempts to stop her illicit affairs outside proved abortive when he took the decision to starve her of sex.
Trouble started last Thursday when the victim returned from a visit to a friend’s house during nightfall and in his usual jokes, called his wife a lazy woman, leaving her in wide anger as she fired back to call the husband a wizard.
Sources said while their quarrel lasted, the woman disguised to have put the quarrel behind her, dashed to the kitchen where she allegedly boiled water and unknown to the husband who was relaxing in the parlour, bathed him with the water and disappeared.
Police officers at the Ibusa Police Division, who did not want their names in the print, confirmed that the woman disappeared with the sum of N200,000 being daily contributions the husband received and kept in her custody.
The police said they were on the trail of the suspect while the victim is said to be receiving treatment in a private hospital.

This is the heartbreaking moment a starving two-year-old Nigerian boy is given water by a charity worker after being left for dead by his family because they thought he was a witch. The boy, now named Hope, was found emaciated and riddled with worms after being forced to live off scraps thrown to him by passersby for eight months. He was finally rescued after being discovered Unclad and wandering the streets on January 31 by Anja Ringgren Loven, a Danish woman living in Africa. Horrified by Hope's condition, Ms Loven bent down and began feeding him and giving him water from her bottle. She then wrapped the disorientated and sick toddler up in a blanket, holding him in her arms, before taking him to the nearest hospital for treatment. Ms Loven is the founder of African Children's Aid Education and Development Foundation, which she created three years ago to help children that have been labelled as a witch and therefore neglected and even killed by the members of their community.

'Thousands of children are being accused of being witches and we've both seen torture of children, dead children and frightened children,' she wrote on Facebook, accompanying images of her feeding the young boy and appealing for donations to help pay for his medical bills. When Hope reached the hospital he was given medication to remove the worms from his belly and daily blood transfusions to incorporate more red blood cells into his body, Ms Loven said. 'Hope's condition is stable now. He's taking food for himself and he responds to the medicine he gets. 'Today, he has had powers to sit up and smiling at us. He's a strong little boy.' Ms Loven said Hope even plays with her own son. 'I just don't know how to describe it in words. This is what makes life so beautiful and valuable and therefore I will let the pictures speak for themselves,' she said. Two days after Ms Loven asked for the community's help with Hope's costly medical bills, she received $1million in donations from around the world. 'With all the money, we can, besides giving Hope the very best treatment, now also build a doctor clinic on the new land and save many more children out of torture!' she said.

Ms Loven runs an children's center where the children she saves live and received medical care, food and schooling. She and her husband, David Emmanuel Umem, began building their own orphanage in late January.

Tragedy was averted in Lagos on Friday when an unidentified man mounted an electricity transmission tower.
Tragedy was averted in Lagos on Friday when an unidentified man mounted an electricity transmission tower.
Our correspondent gathered that the man wandered around the vicinity in the early hours of the day before stopping at the foot of the tower at about 2pm.

Eyewitnesses said he removed some totems tied to the tower by a vigilance group and mounted it to the top despite warnings from residents and passers-by.

A resident, Mr. Kazeem Oyebola, who said the man did not look like a mentally challenged person, added that his responses showed he was on a suicide mission.

He stated, “He was not mad at all. He was coherent when he talked except for some vague statements he made. He had a mission and it was to kill himself for some unknown reasons.”

Also, a yam seller in the area who identified herself as Iya Bose said she was scared when the man in his late thirties climbed the tower.

Another resident, identified as Odunayo, who sells alcoholic drinks in the area, said the man covered himself with a wrapper.

She added that many felt the tower climber wanted cheap publicity or had an intention to “carry out a diabolical assignment particularly as he wore red knickers.”

Our correspondent learnt that the incident attracted a crowd and some of them had to climb the tower to see if they could get him down.

A community leader in the area, Mr. Alao Salami, said when he sensed that the man was not ready to disembark from the tower after about three hours he had to alert the police at the Idimu Police Station.

An official with an electricity distribution firm who did not want his name in print told SUNDAY PUNCH that the only way the man could have survived electrocution was because there was no electricity in the wires.

When our correspondent visited Idimu Police Divisional Headquarters, the Divisional Police Officer, Mr. James Sonekan, refused to comment on the matter.

He said he was not authorised to make an official statement on the matter.

It's not everyday one gets to see such a beautiful girl in camps. I am blessed with beauty which came along with big behinds. As much as I am concerned, I went through hell in nysc camp. As a compulsory division of academics, I happened to serve in Delta Before heading to camp, I read some articles and blogs on others’ experiences. I knew I was in for an adventure. I also chose to write a research paper in one of our graduate level courses on implementing behavioural changes given the NYSC scheme, which was established “with a view to the proper encouragement and development of common ties among the youth of Nigeria and the promotion of national unity”. The pitch of the paper focused on 2 things:

  1.  Curbing the level of staff misbehaviour by making scapegoats
   2.  Encouraging youth engagement in nation building by rewarding those who volunteered to do their assignments in vulnerable places such as the north-east region.

Let me inject this point now- the first point was solely based on stories I heard of how corps members and staff alike would initiate sexual favours in order for the former to get what they wanted, that is, more suitable kits, hostels and desirable assignment locations. I went to camp believing the system was very inefficient and had already failed. More on point one later…state
You

wake up to the tune of, ‘if you’re still sleeping…you’re wrong.’ You’re summoned to the parade ground by 5am, where you stand with your platoon and over 2000 other corps members, also known as Otondos. A few lead the entire camp in worship songs and prayer (Christian and Muslim prayers). We run or play sports, then off to prepare for the day.

Typical camp food breakfast: bread and tea or garri (grainy starch) and beans. I refused! Say no to constipation or diarrhoea, I mean beans?! I’ll eat my mama’s beans but no camp beans for me. Report to lectures by 9am where you fight for chairs or stand uncomfortably for a few hours. Go to lunch then report back to parade ground – All the while music playing on loud speakers and/or someone shouting at you, chasing you around with sticks.

Till this day, I still don’t understand the reason for the shouting or the sticks. Lol.

Evening activities: competitions, dances, relaxation, church services. Nigerian youth can dance! A little too inappropriately sometimes, but they can shake ‘em booties – that’s for sure! Even in church, young and old get DOWN when praising their Jesus, I mean, they shake everything! They say the best place to have a good time is at church. I concur.

More and more men these days are turning to the bald look instead of having to fight baldness or grey hair as they age.

Some ladies think a shaved hair on a guy looks extremely sexy while others don’t share the same opinion but more and more men these days are turning to the bald look instead of having to fight baldness as they age.

Aprille Ross of Binoni lists reasons why a clean shaven head makes women swoon:

A smooth shaven head makes a man appear tidier: No bed head in the morning either! Bald men can roll out of bed and look sexy in whatever they put on, since they don’t have to worry about their hair sticking up at random angles all over their head. This tidiness carries on throughout the day as well. There’s no sweaty hair plastered to a bald man’s head when he finishes running a mile or after working outside on the hottest day of the year.

Bald men look manlier: Look at how many action heroes are bald. A number of actors have chrome domes and look way sexier than men with pony tails. Bruce Willis, Vin Diesel, Jason Statham, and Samuel L. Jackson all look great bald and I think their lack of hair also adds to the strong appearance needed for their roles in action movies.

Baldness seems to go along with maturity: Bald guys tend to have a lot to deal with, when it comes to explaining their reasons for shaving their heads. I think constant confrontation causes them to become more mature quicker. I’ve yet to meet a man who is bald and immature. I’m sure there are plenty out there, but to me baldness tends to equal maturity.

They tend to be less hung up on looks: Seeing as how bald men don’t have long locks to fuss with, they are often less inclined to require an hour to primp in the bathroom before heading out of the house. The bald men I know are very down to earth and less worried about how they appear to everyone else. They tend to have the attitude of “take it or leave it.”

The lack of hair makes other assets more noticeable: From afar, I tend to notice a guy’s hair first. If he happens to be bald, then it forces me to take notice of other things about him instead. I might notice his smile, the way he stands, his facial expressions, the way he gestures when he talks, or any number of things that would have been noticed after his hairdo.

They don’t have a silly looking hair cut: There are terrible haircuts given every day. I’ve witnessed plenty that should have been shaved off right after they were completed. Bald men never have to worry about having a botched hair cut. They look sexy whether their head has been closely shaven or if they have a just a short layer of hair.

Bald men tend to have more confidence: In my opinion, confidence is very sexy. It doesn’t seem to matter what a guy looks like, when he has a lot of confidence it shows in so many ways. A man who is sure of himself will walk with his head high, smile at everyone he meets, and ooze charisma.
